Welcome!

Mindfulness Philadelphia
Stress is a prevalent problem in our society and too much stress can harm both physical and mental health. Stress can cause sleep problems, inflammation, and can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes, and other common medical conditions.

Mindfulness is a natural quality of awareness that can be cultivated through a variety of meditative practices. Greater mindfulness is believed to reduce stress, enhance emotional well-being, and promote mind-body health by allowing us to see more possibilities for healthy choices in the present moment — now.

Our current work at Rowan University -- and previously at the University of Pennsylvania and Duke University -- aims to better understand the health benefits of mindfulness, including the psychological, biological, behavioral, and spiritual avenues by which mindfulness practice relates to better health.
